Life Lately and How I’m Staying Productive

2020, you’re drunk. You can go home now.

No but seriously, what a bizarre time.

Yesterday was supposed to be my bridal shower but it was unfortunately cancelled and postponed until June. Even though I’m bummed out about it I consider myself extremely lucky that I was even able to reschedule it. So many brides had to permanently cancel their events or push them back a year, so for now I’m grateful that I’m not there yet.

I’m not going to spend anymore time stressing about wedding planning, in fact I feel oddly optimistic? These are circumstances out of my control so I’m kissing it up to God and praying this all works out.

How gorgeous were my shower invitations though?! They’re super simple but the handmade paper makes them so elegant and classic- and the FONT! Is anyone else a huge font snob or is it just me?! Finding good lettering is so hard to come by and I feel like my stationary designer did a great job delivering the vibe I was looking for. I’m not so much into the rustic wedding script seen on almost every wedding sign/invitation- you know what I mean?

I have to admit that I’m most sad about the fact I have to wait another 3 months before I can share all of the shower details with you guys (my blogger friends understand this pain)

I spent an exorbitant amount of time styling and designing every detail- like literally down to the fucking rose petal ice cubes LMAO- so trying to plan this for a 2nd time is a bit stressful. I know it’s unusual for a bride to plan her own shower but I am unbareably controlling and I like things veryyy specific- sue me.

So since everything is up in the air at this point, I’m going to hold off on any further planning. If you have OCD like me, this is probably you’re worst nightmare but we’ll get through it!

Ok let’s move along to more important things.

This isolation period has helped put a lot of things into perspective and I feel an overwhelming sense of calm and hope. I know everyone is scared and confused but perhaps this virus is a Great Awakening of some sort. (I don’t mean for that to sound insensitive in anyway- if you have been personally impacted by covid-19 I pray you find the strength and courage to fight through this difficult time, all of our hearts are with you.) But sometimes the most quintessential ingredient for spiritual renewal is a cataclysmic event. The pandemic has disoriented life as we know it and wrecked the global economy in a way that feels apocalyptic, but what if the earth is breaking free from its shackles? Could a rogue virus lead to a grand moment in America’s history? This eye-opening experience has helped me rediscover God and connect with the universe in a way I never felt before. As I said in the beginning of this post I feel oddly optimistic that there will be a bullish resurgence of mankind. My advice for anyone reading this is think critically for yourself and look at the BIGGER picture. Unfortunately, as a society we fall prey to a group-think mentality and believe everything we’re told. Naturally, I’ve always challenged the status quo and kept an open mind. I think it’s the greatest attribute to my creativity and I’m grateful for that.

With that being said, I hope you find purpose during this transitional time and challenge yourself to stay productive. Although my routine has been completely derailed, I have created a brand new regimen. It’s by no means perfect and most of the time I’m disoriented, but it feels good to wake up in the morning with goals to look forward to!

So, what am I up to during quarantine you ask?

Work-wise, not a lot has changed for me because I’ve always worked remotely but business has definitely been affected. No one is immune to the economics of this pandemic which is why it’s so important to have income diversity. I’m by no means a market guru but I’ve always tried to manage my risk by limiting my financial exposure. One of the things I’m taking advantage of learning right now is forex trading which is a global marketplace for exchanging national currencies against one another.

I re-connected with someone special. I have gratitude towards the universe for pushing this person back into my life and believe these circumstances played a large role in it. I hope we can relinquish our past and look ahead to the future because the days ahead of us are bright.

I’m learning Russian and take daily lessons on Duolingo which is a free platform! I’ve been putting this off for years but I’m finally going to stick to it. I chose this language so I can talk to my friends who are… Russian. I’m getting a lot of heat from Pasquale that I’m not learning Italian but I promised him that will be next.

I started taking reformer-style pilates from the comfort of my own home. I am a fitness freak so doom and gloom immediately set in when I heard the studios were shutting down. Like I have a wedding in 5 months!!!!! (God willing). Although I miss my reformer machine, this honestly does the trick. After searching around I decided to go with XB Pilates and I’m loving it so far. Andrea is an amazing instructor and teaches a mix of barre and pilates so you will be burning, trust me!

& finally, I saved the best for last….

*drumroll please*

HASHTAG IS LAUNCHING !!!!!!!!!!!! I am in the final stages of development and cannot wait to launch this new social media platform. I can’t help but feel like it’s the perfect timing with everything going on in our current climate. Social media has become so negative recently and people will be seeking a new refreshing platform.

That’s all for now friends. Stay well and as always thank you for stopping by.
