Sunflower Fields Forever

For some reason these pictures scream “ahhh, to be young forever.” Like the ultimate emblem of youth.
I have a love/hate relationship with growing older and just aging, period. Like half of me loves this crazy, tumultuous ride through life and the other half of me wishes we could just pause and stop time.
Do you ever find yourself reminiscing about memories and think holy shit that was 5 years ago, how is that even possible? Where did the time go?
It’s honestly scary and I feel like the older I get the narrower my blinders become and I sometimes forget to just stop and enjoy the moment. I forget to soak up all of the sweet little things in life that are so easily taken for granted.
I had a grounding moment today when my friend Cilia and I took her girls out to the North Fork to have some fall fun at the farms. I wish sometimes I could see life through a child’s lens with just pure innocence and no predispositions. The joy on their face over the simplest things like running through a field was the sweetest thing.
Like, does ANYTHING get me as excited as they were sucking the butter off of their roasted corn on the cob?
It was a humbling moment and made me realize life is chaotic but you need to slow the f down or you’re going to end up like Adam Sandler in the movie Click- disclaimer – that movie gives me full blown anxiety.
DON’T TAKE THINGS FOR GRANTED.
Call your grandma.
Go on that walk.
Tell your mom you love her.
Reach out to your friends.
Don’t assume they will always be there tomorrow.
Be present. Life goes quick.
