My 26th Birthday

I used to have this weird thing with birthdays where the build up and anticipation would always somehow lead to disappointment and emptiness- I guess in my head I set unreal expectations, even though it’s just a regular day out of the year. I also had an extreme fear of getting older and for those reasons I really hated celebrating my birthday until recently. Overall, I felt confused and displaced in my early 20’s.
This year, I’ve genuinely never felt more gratitude for the people in my life and I’m in the happiest place that I’ve ever been. Positivity and self love have made me appreciate all of life’s opportunities and blessings, and having a strong support group is truly invaluable. I had 20 of my closest friends and family at my birthday and I feel blessed for these amazing people in my life.
OKAY
back to the point of this post. I wanted to share with you the hotel that I stayed in and the restaurant that hosted my brunch because it was interior goals AF.
This was the skyline suite at the Williamsburg Hotel and it was stunning! The floor to ceiling windows gave panoramic views of the whole city.
This tub, I mean come on! The interior of this place was so gorgeous and I loved the blue subway tile that wrapped around the entire bathroom. Later that night, we enjoyed a bubble bath and champagne while watching the Oscars- but I was more interested in watching the views.
Pasquale and I sat at this bar for hours and we reflected on the last 8 years of our relationship. The ups, the downs the CRAZY, we wouldn’t have traded it for anything. I remember meeting you 10 years ago and I fell so fast I think the universe already knew you were mine. It may not always be smooth sailing, but you make this crazy thing called life worth living. I love you so much it hurts, I can’t wait to marry you one day.

This is Cafe Medi and is hands down one of the cutest restaurants in NYC! I’m so last minute with life, but I did not want to settle on just any place. They were so accommodating and made my birthday truly special. I highly recommend planning your event here.
Artsy tapestry room. After a bottomless brunch, I don’t remember this photo being taken. But this was one of the best birthdays I’ve ever had. Thanks to my amazing boyfriend, friends and family for making me feel so loved.
